In a change to the law made via The Employment Rights Bill, The UK Government has announced the legalisation of two weeks bereavement leave to parents who suffer a miscarriage before 24 weeks' gestation. The change is expected to pass its final stages in Parliament next week.
Losing a baby at any gestation is one of the hardest things to go through. This change acknowledges the profound emotional and physical impact of such losses and extends the rights previously reserved for stillbirths after 24 weeks.
